Bingo is certainly one of the easiest games on the planet; all you need are bingo chips and cards, the ability to know the numbers, a prize and fast eyes, even children can play it.
Aims of the Game:
The objective of the game is to complete a certain pattern agreed before the game with the minimum number of calls. Patterns are determined before the game starts, it can either be a full horizontal, or vertical, a diagonal, an X, a box, or what they call block out, where all the numbers in the card should be filled.
Bingo Card
The card Bingo uses has five letters (B, I, N, G, O) across the top showing the five columns. Each column has its own set of numbers ranging from 1 to 75.
The B column has the numbers from 1-15, while column I has numbers, 16-30, 31-45 are the numbers for the N column, column G has numbers from 46 to 60, while the O column has numbers from 61 – 75. Each column Each of the column may only have five numbers from their respective range.
The card forms a grid in which the middle grid, the 3rd row of column N is labeled free, this box need not be filled.
The Game Proper
You need a bingo card, you may have more than one bingo card at a time, depending on how fast you can label them.
The game immediately starts after the host tells everyone the pattern to be completed.
Listen for the first ball, the host will shout a letter, either B, I, N, G or O, for the column and then a number, e.g. G-56.
See if you have this in your bingo card, then label it at once.
The host continues to call out letters and numbers until someone form the pattern required.
The person forming the pattern should immediately yell bingo! To inform everyone that she has finished the pattern and has won the game.
The host will then verify if all the numbers forming the pattern in the card had been called, either by taking your card, or by you shouting out the numbers that made you form the pattern.
Another game may follow after another, either with the same or different pattern, with same or different prize.
After a Bingo, the prize is given to the winner.
Note
Don’t yell BINGO if you haven’t accomplished a pattern yet, this halts the games and annoying for other players.
